I Don't Know Why?

When the war first started I thought we were in Iraq for oil, which would make us even richer as a country. This was easy to come up with because little Bush's father, big Bush, was in the middle east first, also for oil. I figured we would bomb the terrorists as payback for 9/11 and get out of there. I did not expect this was to turn out in my opinion like Vietnam. In both Vietnam and the war in Iraq, there is no feeling of victory. The only thing that can be summarized about this war for America is the loss of lives. Iraqi soldiers or officers could have been trained in less time and they could patrol their own land. There is no reason for countless lives to be lost for really no reason. These people died because of the prolonged stay in Iraq. They were there so long they just could not avoid harm anymore. Since there is really no victory to be had, these men, though revered by their towns and by all of America, are not really going to be remembered as war heroes, but as casualties of a senseless war.
